Exhibition
The museum contains a history of Woburn and its surroundings from pre-historic times to the present day. There are 28 graphic boards arranged chronologically and artifacts, mostly donated by local residents. There is also a study area with local censuses, registers, and folders, plus an index of the legible gravestones in the churchyard. Ideal for family research.
Recently, the museum acquired a beautiful Georgian-style dolls house, fully furnished and with lighting. It was given to us by an elderly lady who wanted it to be in a place where it could be seen by the public and it has proved a very popular addition to our collection.
The Centre is open from April to October:
Wednesday to Friday: 2.00 am to 4.30 pm.
Weekends and Bank Holidays: 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.
In October it is open only at weekends.
Shop
In the small shop area there is a variety of cards, toys, mugs and walk leaflets. We also sell second-hand books and jigsaws and books on the local area. There is also a mouse trail for children to find little wooden mice hidden around the building.
